A More Creative Approach to the Spill

Yesterday CNBC commentator Rick Santelli came up with a far more creative approach to BP and its role in the oil spill.

Instead of the approach the government has taken by threatening and denigrating British Petroleum so that there is increasing discussion about bankruptcy, Rick proposed having BP set up a fund immediately for the benefit of the Gulf coast and its clean up.

British Petroleum generates billions of dollars a year in cash flow.  It seems to me it would be a much smarter and more logical approach to keep BP healthy, so that they can completely fulfill their obligation to the Gulf.
