Mythbusters’ Jamie Hyneman – Good Advice for New Grads

A little over a week ago my husband and I travelled to Bloomington, Indiana to attend our older son’s graduation.  Neither one of us had attended our own college, or graduate school ceremonies, as they too were at very large universities and seemed somewhat impersonal.  So, we were impressed by how inspirational the IU graduation turned out to be.  Besides having our son be part of the graduating class of 2016, the commencement speaker, Jamie Hyneman made the ceremony particularly meaningful.  In fact, I think the “grownups” appreciated his advice and life experiences even more than the students, since we have a bit of perspective.  I have embedded the speech here, and think the 9 minutes it takes to watch it is worth the investment.
