Why Socialism Doesn’t Work

in United States of America

We typically don’t post any kind of political opinion on our blog.  However, when I saw this video, I felt it went beyond just politics.  Like Mr. Peterffy, we are concerned about the “slippery slope” of class warfare. My father was an immigrant from Czechoslovakia, a Holocaust survivor, and fluent Hungarian speaker. He felt the same way.

As Mr. Peterffy says in the video which is embedded below, “in socialism, the rich get poorer, and the poor get poorer”.  Surely something for all of us to consider.

I disagree with this ad. I believe that certain government programs really work. Social security, medicare and other government programs really help Americans. All the democrats I know are not looking for a handout. Some people really need help and most of suburban America never sees these people. Corporate welfare, on the other hand, costs more than food stamps and other kinds of welfare and many times goes to corporations like Exon who doesn’t need help. Most people I know work hard and contribute to society. America is the land of opportunity but also a country who helps those who cannot help themselves.
